The Good Girl

The Good Girl by Mary Kubica

Book Description from Goodreads.

One night, Mia Dennett enters a bar to meet her on-again, off-again boyfriend, but when he doesn’t show up, she leaves with an enigmatic stranger. At first Colin Thatcher seems like a safe one-night stand, but following Colin home will turn out to be the worst mistake of Mia’s life.

This was lent to me by my mom’s friend who told me it was very much like Gone Girl. I would first say, this is definitely darker and more intense than Gone Girl. I really don’t know how I felt about the twist in the book, the only way I can describe it is: it was weird. The writing is very good, and for a book that has multiple POV’s I wasn’t confused or lost at any point, to me that shows it was very well written. The only reason why I’m giving it 2 stars was because it was a lot darker than I had anticipated and I really didn’t like it. I can’t say much more otherwise I’ll give it away. 2/5 stars.

  1. I’m always so put off by this book because the girl on the cover looks SO young to me and it creeps me out. Thanks for the review, it’s basically confirmed that I am not going to read this haha
